Discover the role of education in Peoria NEXT!

Peoria NEXT invites you to join K-12 educators from throughout the Peoria area to celebrate and explore education along with engineers, researchers, and entrepreneurs representing a variety of local organizations.

This is a unique networking event that will provide participants an opportunity to discover our regional potential, learn about educational components critical to our regional success and uncover the wealth of local science and technology resources supporting educators in our region.

The purpose of this forum is to:

1. Provide awareness of regional resources for enhancing education.

2. Provide awareness of Peoria NEXT goals and objectives in relation to regional economic growth and the next generation workforce.

3. Provide awareness of the dramatic change in science and technology over the next ten years.

4. Provide awareness of existing educational and vocational programs between K-12 schools and industry/commerce, particularly in sciences and education.

5. Build personal networks between educators within the K-12 system in the regional school districts.

6. Build a stronger alliance between lower and higher education in science and technology and other disciplines.

7. Consider mechanisms to collaborate with regional science and technology resources to help students meet or exceed the Illinois Learning Standards.

8. Encourage collaboration to make students aware of, and excited by, career possibilities right here in the Peoria area, and to show students how to achieve these careers.

9. Generate renewed pride in what educators do and in what the Peoria area has to offer to help us educate our community.

10. Facilitate interaction with world-class science and technology researchers and fellow educators to Discover and Celebrate what we have right here in the Peoria area!
